I tried to arrange a simple jest.
But it failed to come out right,
My attempt was an awful sight
I failed though I did my best,
I think I'll lay this plan to rest.
I know when to admit defeat,
I'll not soon do a repeat
Unless I'm sorely pressed;
Then I may try again;
Though perhaps again I'll fail,
Not to try would be a sin;
For to try is to prevail,
To conquer is a noble deed,
So I must hasten with all speed.
