Procrastination
A Christian friend of mine
Put off, with an excuse or two,
To witness to a lost friend,
Put off, like many of us do.
He should have taken time to witness;
At best our chance's are mighty slim,
Now his chance is gone forever,
His outlook ever grim.
Tomorrow he would witness to him
And tell him of his urgent need,
Tomorrow he'd be sure to tell him of Jesus
Yes, he'd hasten with all speed.
Tomorrow he'd not be out on the town
With women, wine and song,
Tomorrow he'd be sober.
He'd tell him of the things he's doing wrong.
Tomorrow he'd be sure to tell him
Of salvation's guiding light,
Tomorrow he surely would have told him;
But alas, his friend up and died last night!

We can write an essay, or song and it may top the charts
for decades.
We can perform some heroic deed and it may be remembered
for a hundred years.
We may give an earth shattering speech and it may
go down in history as a classic.
We can pray one well sincere intercessory prayer
and it will pay dividends throughout eternity. |
