I did not pray before I planned;
I built my house on sinking sand,
Within the storm it would not stand;
Desperately at God's door I knocked;
He said, "Build your house on the Solid Rock."

I weathered the storm a much smarter man
I paused to pray the best one can,
And through prayer I found a better plan,
I turned to the shepherd of the flock
And built my house on the 'Solid Rock'.

The storms of life still come and go
Satan's fiery darts I still know;
But my Lord softens every blow.
You can survive earth's every shock,
If you build your house on the 'Solid Rock'.

Build your house on a sure foundation
Satan sends sin's strong vibrations,
His goal's to destroy church, home and nation.
So be on guard around the clock;
Build your house on the 'Solid Rock'.
