Lord, What Would You Do?
In an end time world void of love
Your Word said that would be a sign,
So we turn to the Word for direction
The only hope for our weary mind.
Father, there's been a long searching
Forty years, and still no reason why,
Never have we understood the rejection
Perhaps we'll understand by and by?
Father, you know low long we sought answers
How many ways are there to sooth and aching heart,
How does one find acceptance in a family,
Where for forty years we've never been a part?
Father, we come to you for solution
To draw from Your well of wisdom, please speak,
How do we respond to those who deny us their love?
When we feel disappointment, how can we be meek?
When the one who's supposed to receive a mother's praise
Denies her roll and fills our heart with pain,
When the only time we're summoned is in a time of need,
When our hearts are filled with anger, who's to blame?
Father, if there's a hidden secret somewhere
That can reveal this mystery and our hearts satisfy,
Will you melt the hard heart with Your grace,
So they'll come and tell us the reason why?
If in all this anguish there's an answer
We'll be careful to give the glory in Your name,
And now I'll ask you once again
Is there an answer to a heart that's filled with pain?
We may never know this side of glory;
On the other side we won't ever care,
So until we're called home to glory, Lord,
Can You please give us an answer to this prayer!
