A Friend
A friend that will give you blood when you're hurt
And sit by your bedside and pray
He's a valuable asset to any mans life;
You'll not meet a man like that every day!
A person that will point out your shortcomings
When other are afraid they might offend,
He's to be cherished and respected a great deal
For in this world there's not many such friends!
A man that will stand behind you
When other turn you down,
You had better thank God for him
For there's not many like that to be found!
A fellow who will lift you up
When your spirit's desperately low,
Should be considered a special friend
That anyone would be glad to know!
There's all kinds of people in the world
Of variety there is no end,
But the person who points you toward the Lamb of God
Now there's a friend among friends!
The one who leads you too Jesus
To be saved from sin and strife,
Yes; friends may come and friends may go
But he'll be a friend for life!
