Frown to a Smile
I awoke from a sleepless night
With a frown across my brow,
I thought I'd call on Jesus
And find relief somehow.
"I'm bearing a heavy burden, Lord;
Would you share it for a while."
The long sought help from glory
Simply vanished with a smile!
I sulked in silence all day long
In my misery I felt all alone,
"I'd gladly grant a smile for your umbrella,
But today, my child, you're all alone."
I struggled until the twilight din
And played the waiting game,
Down beside my bed I asked once more;
"Sorry, you have yourself to blame."
I tossed and turned the whole night thru
And rose to start another day,
Then it came to me like a thunderbolt
And I knelt down once more to pray.
My day was one of wonderment and joy
And once again life seemed worthwhile,
I arose with a different attitude
And seen that vision fading with a smile.
