Tell Him Again Today

Remember the hugs and kisses
 Of many long years ago
When you loved Mom and Dad
And wasn't afraid to tell them so.

Now that you're older, my friend,
 Perhaps you're many miles apart,
Why not tell them once again
The words that will thrill their hearts.

How long does it take to give them a call
Oh, I know something better still,
Drop what you're doing today
Sneak home and give them a pleasant thrill.

Just go home for a day and a night
It would be a wonderful surprise,
Catch them off guard with a hug and a kiss
And watch the twinkle in their eyes.

Grab both of them in a big bear hug
And tell them what they want to hear,
Oh, I love you, Dad, for being my friend;
And, yes, Mother, I love you dear.

When you've departed and they're all alone
They'll rejoice in knowing you still care,
And the Lord will draw near and be glad to hear
When you whisper their names in prayer.
