It's A Shame
It's one thing to live a life of folly
With women wine and song,
It's quite another to die one day
And find you've lived life all wrong !
It's a shame people go through life
Rejecting the warning on the wall,
Insisting on a life of sin, and weeping
When the death angel comes to call !
Some cheat and lie, and play the devil's game
And claim honesty is in the beholders eye,
Then they wish they hadn't gambled,
When the ghost of death passes by !
Many blaspheme the name of Jesus
Some even vow that God is dead,
But they want to change their story
When pall bearing angels slip up beside their bed !
Some allow greed to cheat them of the love of God,
And grieve the spirit up above,
Then die, and with their last sigh, say
"I never heard of God's redeeming love" !
Live for Jesus, while among the living
Lift His blood stained banner high,
Don't live a life of sin and folly;
And regret it one day when you die !
