Thirty-Three Years a Sinner

Thirty-three years living with fears I didn't know how to erase,
Thirty-three years living in sin, oh, for His marvelous grace.

Thirty-three years of life, but God said I was really dead,
Thirty-three years shunning God's love, listening to Satan instead.

Thirty-three years of ignorance, enjoying each moment of sin
Thirty-three years fooling around, not knowing the danger I was in.

Thirty-three years saying "no" to Jesus, and yet I was satisfied,
Thirty-three years eternity bound, forever in Hell if I'd died.

Thirty-three years and then someone came to me in the night,
Thirty-three years in darkness, then came the beautiful light.

Thirty-three years a sinner, and only a moment away from Hell,
Thirty-three years of silence, how many years left my story to tell.

Dedicated to Brother Dennis A. Hodge.
The someone who showed me the way to strait gate.
Then a near stranger, and friend
Now a Brother until eternity ends.
