The Tragedy Of Christmas Present

But,

Jesus has given way to Santa
And Bethlehem; to the North Pole,
And Rudolph the red nosed reindeer;
Overshadows 'the greatest story ever told'.

The merry songs of Christmas day
Are of Santa and all his reindeer gang,
Forgotten, and forsaken by mortal man
The advent carols all the angels sang.

And to climax all earthly demise
We shall reap our final fate;
While God has sown His eternal love;
Man has sought so many way's to hate

But,

Those who are thrilled at the nativity scene
Rejoiced as the Christ child lay upon the manger straw,
The thought of the heralding angels
Leaves your hungry hearts at awe.

And as the years of time pass swiftly by
As men speak of peace, and joy on earth unfolds,
The story of His birth, His death; and He's risen!!
Is still the sweetest story ever told.

So as we engage in holiday merriment
Let's not forget the Christ child's birth,
The greatest gift that God could ever give
To bring lasting peace to all the earth.
