The Foundation For The Christmas Story
God scanned the Universe to see
If earth was worth His impending plan,
A world scarred by Satan's evil grip;
Hopelessly a scene for fallen man.
I'll send someone to redeem the lost
In a world so wretched and defiled,
I cannot send a conquering angel army;
He chose to send an infant child.
"I'll go and do my best," said Jesus,
"I'll tell them of your mighty love,
Of a burning Hell to shun;
And of a Heavenly home above."
I'll teach and preach and show miracles,
I'll heal the sick, and give the sad relief.
I'll tell them of an open door,
And for the fallen wipe away their grief.
I'll call to me a few good men,
And a Church to be my eternal bride,
I'll help the blind again to see;
And I'll still their angry rage inside.
I'll sweat great drops of blood
And surrender to their angry will,
While they spit upon me I'll be meek;
And when the spikes are driven, I'll love them still.
While He was suspended between Heaven and earth
The multitude mocked Him on that tree,
With His last breath He whispered,
"Father, forgive them, set them free."
He came not as a mighty conqueror;
But as a lamb meek and mild,
That's the way the story has been told,
God sent Him to a manger, born a humble Child.
So now you know the Story of Christmas
How God came to rid Earth of sin and hate,
The greatest gift, one Earth could not afford,
And that's the reason for us to celebrate!
