Thank God
If you're filled in the midst of famine
And fully clothed in the winter storm,
Thank God for His many provisions
The food and the clothes to keep you warm.
If your health is above average
And days pass without pain or tears,
Thank God, the Great Physician
For His healing hand so near.
If you have an abundance of friends
And loneliness seldom comes to your door,
Thank God for your many acquaintances
And His blessings by the score.
If your bank account balances
And now and then there's some to spare,
Thank God, the Master Auditor
That now and then you have a bit to share.
If your wavering years find you agile
And aging seems to pass you by,
Thank God for your good fortune
And for the strength to keep you spry.
Then when your earthly race is over
When down here you no longer trod,
As you linger upon your dying pillow
Reflect upon life's joy and then - Thank God.
