Prepare For Battle
Prepare today for the lifelong battle
Dig in for the bitter fray,
Lay plans for the ongoing encounter
On this your wedding day.
Your plans may be for a life of joy
But, Child, it may not last very long;
If Satan has his way,
You'll go through life doing things all wrong.
Joy in marriage doesn't just happen
You have to face the challenges fair and square,
All the happiness in marriage only comes
When watered with tears of faith and prayer.
The greater the struggle together
The greater the ties that bind,
There's joy in an honest struggle
And happiness in victory over Satan you'll find.
We're living in a challenging time
When Satan and his cohorts
Are working overtime to
Tear the Christian homes apart.
The cord of God's great love
When through trials, our faith's put to test;
Along with the trials, the victories -
And with the victories, a life of happiness.
| Life's not always a bowl of cherries, nor a rosebed. Satan's
always there to spoil the tranquility we hoped for when we said, "I do".
If you live with the assurance that Jesus will always be there to lift
you up when Satan puts us down, then you can over come all of the fiery
darts Satan has in his arsenal. There really is a rosebed . . . .
and pie in the sky, but that's part of our reward in Heaven. |
