Yes, God loves America
He's loved you for many years
But the things you're guilty of
Must bring Him close to bitter tears.

He was there at valley forge
When you stood periled years ago,
When you withstood the British;
But fell pray to the winter snow.

He was there during eternal conflict
To tear our states apart,
He stood by and healed your wounds
And gave you a brand new start.

When WWI shook the world
And war fought on distant shores,
Again He gave you victory
As you licked your battle sores.

When the war to end all wars began
You had not prepared for the fight,
But, God gave you the strength;
And you gained the military might.

Then Satan tried a new approach
And tiny nations became the prey,
Korea became the victim of aggression
You rose to meet the challenge on that day.

If we won or lost is still debated
But we halted communism for a while,
With God's help you fought for freedom
Once again you cramped the devil's style.

Then came Viet Nam and rice paddy warfare
The war nobody cared to win,
And when the war clouds lifted
We were back where we first began.

I can't help being fearful of your future
For all your folly God must surely know,
I'm afraid one day in His anger,
God may cut the cord of love and let you go.

Oh, America, turn around while there's time
Put the enemies from within to rout,
Turn back to God's narrow path
Before He takes up His book and blots you out.
