We Take A Lot For Granted
The sun came up on schedule
We took for granted that it would,
What if out of order, came disorder
And things failed to happen like they should ?
Oh, how awful to stumble in total darkness
Blinded along in this earthly race,
What would we do if God turned away
And simply set another pace ?
What if the sun refused to set
And all earth turned to a cinder crisp,
How frightening the mere thought
That God would throw fate such an awful twist.
What if earth suddenly spun out of control
And the planet flew apart,
Just the thought of a planet out of control,
Such chaos strikes fear within the human heart.
Oh, I'm so glad God's in complete control
And His rainbow sign's His guarantee,
That if we trust our soul in His strong hands
That safe we'll always be.
