One Miracle After Another
I opened up the word of God
And much to my surprise,
I was astonished
At the thing that caught my eye.
The more I seen, the more I feared,
Alarmed at the awful things I read,
For like the obituary column
The word said I was really dead.
I saw where men lived in a garden
And there they lived without sin,
Then one day they fell from grace;
And took the devil in.
It went on to say man need not die
That God gave us a choice, yes or no,
As I looked around in this sin sick world
I thought, surely this is so.
As I read on, I saw miracles
That was so hard to believe,
Then this one really stirred my heart
By a virgin, Jesus was conceived.
On and on I read, amazed
As I took in the Biblical story,
Jesus came to die for sinful man
And robbed Heaven of it's glory.
First a manager bed for to lay His head,
Then a garden to sweat in agony,
"Father, let this cup pass",
Instead He drank it for you and me.
The final chapter had this to say,
"Behold, I stand at the door of your heart;
If you will just believe in me,
Eternal life to you I will impart".
