Have We Become A Lesser Vessel
Are we no longer His eyes, His mouth,
His hands and feet to do a work for Him;
Are the hopes of the eternal lost
In these final days looking very dim ?
Are we overlooking those with heavy burdens;
While we look for those with lesser loads,
Do we forget the weary on the lower;
While we fancy traveling the upper road ?
Is the great commission just a mere echo
Just a faded whisper in our prayer,
Is it that we've given up the struggle;
Or is it that we no longer care ?
Worldly treasures have taken top priority
While the poor, we no longer see,
Have God's children forgotten;
That poor and lost is what we use to be ?
The hour glass of time is still running
But surely time is running out,
Dear Christian, what will your measure be
When Jesus comes with a Holy shout ?
When we count the ways to gain a crown
While we so journey here below,
Will we stand stripped before our Lord,
And miss the crown we'll never know ?
Are we living without convictions
Don't the 'lost' matter anymore,
When we cross stormy Jordan will we see
The lame, halt and blind when we step ashore ?
Lord, forgive us wherein we have failed
Your word tells a story we know well,
There's a Heaven for your 'born again';
Have we forgotten there's also a living Hell ?
| The countdown is on, the clock is still ticking, when the hourglass
is empty will we be satisfied when we lay it all of the altar: I
doubt it! |
